Benjamin Bailey has experience that spans the globe and the industry, from traditional to experiential, and start-ups to giants. He’s helmed major content productions from Mexico’s agave fields to Indonesian rice terraces; launched a first-of-its-kind creative agency in Kingston, Jamaica; translated Chris Blackwell’s island lifestyle for savvy travelers; helped Chobani’s founder Hamdi rethink and redesign his ecosystem from products to incubation programs to resources for refugees; added digital amplification to American Express’ live experiences; and transformed J&J’s signature brands to compete in a world of disruptors.

Bailey recently brought his brand-building credential to Detroit to develop Doner’s design muscle. His brand foundations work has reshaped global CPG, services and hospitality brands, as well as innovation platforms for legacy brands needing to compete in a modern marketplace … and early-stage startups needing to attract non-coastal audiences..

“New product development is smartest when conceived in a crucible of multi-channel experts. Achieving brand love — as all modern economy brands know — requires an integrated solution in which identity, advertising, packaging, social come from the same place,” says Bailey. This thinking has worked well for Doner’s stewardship of Tylenol, Zyrtec, Pilgrims, Cinemark, Penn Gaming, Nature’s Bounty and more. But, this integrated thinking started long before his time in Detroit.

Prior to Doner, Bailey partnered in OppermanWeiss, a NYC-based C-Suite consultancy that developed brand foundations for Bacardi, Martini, Chobani, Revlon and more. His experience leading design, experiential and advertising agencies streamlined the reboot of these global brands.

As executive creative director and global director of design for McCann Worldgroup’s Momentum Worldwide, Bailey led the flagship office’s creative team in developing experiential marketing and creative technologies for American Express, Verizon, Coca-Cola and more.

Before Momentum, Bailey founded a first-of-its-kind and thriving agency — Generousitas — in Kingston, Jamaica. In this tough, tropical environment, he recruited talent from nonconventional sources and trained them to deliver creative solutions to a client base stretching from Kingston to NYC to all points of theCaribbean … proof that the world is flat. Experiences prior to Momentum and Generousitas all pointed in their direction. As creative director of Eziba, Bailey created a brand that was one of the Internet’s first doing-well-by-doing-good global retailers. Bailey also built the design discipline at McCann Worldgroup’s first global boutique, Amster Yard.

Bailey is a graduate of the Ole Miss School of Journalism, as well as The Portfolio Center. He has been recognized by the Cannes Lions, Society of Publication Designers, the ADDY’s and the New York Art Director’s Club.
